Died: 14th October 1917. Killed in Action Passchendaele, Belgium.

Richard charles Bezzant enlisted with the AIF on the 7th December 1915 and was allocated to A Company 33rd
Battalion AIF at Armidale and was an original member of the Battalion. He embarked onboard HMAT A74 "Marathon" on
the 4th May 1916.
Richard is remembered with honour and is commemerated in perpetuity by the Commonweath War Graves Commission at the
MENIN GATE MEMORIAL, Ypres.
Richard was a single 18 year old Farmer from "Bushgrove" Deepwater, N.S.W. upon enlistment. His parents Edbert and Ada Bezzant
were married in 1895 at Merewether, N.S.W. Marriage Cert:3414/1895 and had at least 3 children.
Richard Charles Bezzant born 1898 at Merewether, N.S.W. Birth Cert:32213/1898 and died in 1971 at Passchendaele,
Belgium during World war 1. Elsie M Bezzant born 1902 at Merewether, N.S.W. Birth Cert:23644/1902.
