Mother: Annie Mary Catherine Booth. nee: Nissen.
William Douglas Booth enlisted with the AIF on the 2nd December 1915 and was allocated to B company 33rd Battalion AIF and
was an original member of the Battalionn. He embarked from Sydney onboard HMAT A74 "Marathon" on the 4th May 1916.
Lance Corporal: 365 William Douglas BOOTH. For conspicouous gallantry and devotion to duty during
operations near BRAY on 22nd August 1918. L/Cpl. BOOTH was No: 1 Lewis Gunner. During the advance the right flank
of his Company was held up by an enemy Machine gun. Acting on his own initiative this N.C.O. rushed the enemy post and
firing his lewis Gun from the hip he captured the Machine Gun and crew. Throughout he did most excellent work particularly
during the enemy counter attack. His prompt and accurate fire inflicted severe casulties on the enemy. He displayed splendid
initiative and the greatest daring at all times.

william returned to Australia on the 13th November 1919 and was discharged from the AIF on the 5th January 1920.
