Edwin James Harold Brown enlisted with HQ Company, 33rd Battalion AIF on the 1st of February 1916 and was an original member of the Battalion
and left Sydney on board HMAT A74 "Marathon" on the 4th of May 1916.
8th October 1917.
Informant; Private: 1512 Edwin James Harold BROWN Captain: Charles Henry LINKLATER was
in Command of C Company. He was wounded at St Ives, Ploegsteert in June 1917 but it was read out in Battalion Orders that he died of wounds.
D Company, Stretcher Bearer. Australian Camp
Returned to Australia on the 12th of June 1919.
Edwin was a single 19 year old Coal Miner from Gilgai Road, Inverell, N.S.W. upon enlistment. He was a member of the Salvation Army.
