7th September 1918
Lieutenant: Norman Beade D'ARCY. 35th Battalion AIF. For conspicous gallantry
and devotion to duty when West of Bray on the 22nd August 1918. Lieut. D'ARCY displayed
considerable powers of leadership and great bravery; he led his platoon fearlessly, kept touch
with his flankand showed great initiative in handling his men, capturing about 50 prisoners and
one Machine-Gun. He set a fine example of cheerfulness, courage, determination and resourcefulness
to his whole company.
