INFORMATION

James Douglas enlisted with the 10th Reinforcements, 1st Pioneer Battalion on the 5th of December 1916 and left Sydney on board HMAT A68 "Anichises" on the 21st of January 1917 and was later transfered to the 33rd Battalion where he was Wounded in Action (Self inflicted Wounds) on the 27th of March 1918. It appears James shot himself in the left foot. James was attatched to the No:2 Consentration Group and was Court Martialed

James enlisted during World War 2, on the 23rd of Febuarary 1942 at Paddington, N.S.W and served with the 2nd Garrison Battalion AIF.

Family Information

James was a 19 year old Labourer from Sandringham, New South Wales upon enlistment. His wife Violet was his next of kin and lived at Park Street, Arncliffe, New South Wales.
