An opportunity to acquire a nice correctly named British War Medal to an original member of B Company, 33 Infantry Battalion A.I.F., who embarked as a Corporal. Oliver Arnold HARRIS was born Glanmire, BATHURST, lived at URALLA, and enlisted ARMIDALE. It appears he was a signaller and later served on the Headquarters of 9 Infantry Brigade. The medal is in beautiful almost mint condition, with original silk ribbon, and is correctly impressed naming 436 SGT.O.A.HARRIS. 33-BN A.I.F. sold on the 24th November 2008 to a private collector.

Returned to Australia on the 11th August and was discharged from the AIF on the 25th September 1919.

Oliver was a single 22 year old Clerk from Uralla, N.S.W. His father Joseph lived at 107 Seymore Street, Bathurst, N.S.W.
