MILITARY MEDAL

Driver, (Lance Corporal) 1410 Lindsay IRVING, 33rd Battalion AIF. For conspicous courage and devotion to duty during operations from 29th September to 2nd October 1918 near BONY. Lance Corporal IRVING did exceptionally good work in maintaining liaison between Battalion Headquarters and the Regimental Transport. On three occasions he visited Battalion Headquarters and on learning the new location of the Battalion reported to the Transport Officer and guided the Transport to within 500 yards of the Front Line and thus ensured hot food and supplies reaching the Battalion each night.

Throughout the operations of August 8th-22nd and 31st, this N.C.O distinguished himself by his courage, initiative, resources and by his skillful handling of his teams.
