Norman Stanley Kemp enlisted with B Company 36th Battalion AIF 5th January 1916 and was
an original member of the Battalion and left Sydney on board HMAT A72 "Beltana" on the 13th of
May 1916. Norman was transfered to the 33rd Battalion (Headquarters)
22nd March 1919.

Lieutenant: 1405 George Moffatt CARSON was attatched to D Company. He was shot through the
head by Machine-Gun fire, to the left of CLERY, in the early morning. He was buried in the same
field, the same evening, and his grave was marked. He was buried with several others in one
grave.

Norman was a single 22 year old Draper from Yass Street, Cootamundra, N.S.W. upon enlistment. He
served during Word War 2. Service Number N202313, Warrant Officer 2 with the 18th Battalion,
Volunteer Defence Corps at Tumut from the 19th of March 1942 until the 25th of September 1945.
Henry and Margaret Kemp were married in 1893 at Tumut, N.S.W. Marriage Cert:7011/1893 and
had 6 children. 3 boys and 3 girls. Norman Stanley Kemp born 1894 at Tumut, N.S.W. Birth
Cert:33731/1894. Leo Milton Kemp born 1895 born 1894 at Tumut, N.S.W. Birth Cert:37422/1895
and died 19th July 1916, France. Reginald Henry Kemp borm 1898 at Tumut, N.S.W. Birth
Cert:16525/1898. Aline H Kemp born 1901 at Tumut, N.S.W. Birth Cert:7996/1901.
Margaret R Kemp born 1903 at Tumut, N.S.W. Birth Cert:25714/1903. Alice M Kemp born
1905 at Tumut, N.S.W. Birth Cert:18135/1905.
Private: 3368 Leo Milton Kemp. 53rd Battalion AIF was Killed in Action
in France during World War 1.
