James Millington enlisted with the 5th Reinforcements, 33rd Battalion AIF and left Sydney on board "SS Napier" on the 17th of November 1916 and
disembarked at Devonport england on the 29th of January 1917. James was marched to the 9th Training Battalion at the durrington Army Camp, Lark Hill. He was
admitted to hospital suffering from Influenza an the 17th of February and after being discharged and returning to Lark Hill
he was Charged with being Absent Without Leave on the 23rd of March 1917 from 6:45pm until 10:00pm and was ordered
to forfiet 2 days pay by Major HUNT.
James proceeded overseas for France via Folkstone on the 5th of April 1917 and was marched out the the front from Estaples on the 23rd of April and taken on
in strength with B Company 33rd Battalion on the 24th of April. James was Killed in Action on the 8th June 1918 and is remembered
with honour and is commemerated in perpetuity by the Commonweath War Graves Commission at the MENIN GATE MEMORIAL, Ypres.
His father Herbert was issued with his British War Medal:53664 on the 20th of May 1921, his Memorial Scroll on the 25th January 1922, his Memorial Plaque on
the 1st of September 1922 and his Victory Medal:52864 on the 3rd of May 1923.
James was a single 21 year old Orchardist from North Richmond, N.S.W. upon enlistment. James was educated at the Grosewold Provisional School. His parents

and died in 1918 during WW1. Edward Millington born 1898 at Richmond, N.S.W. Birth Cert:6748/1898 he married Eveline A Riley in 1922 at
