Major White of the flank company had therfore to trust mainly to his snipers, who-chief among
them one named Partridge Lance Corporal: 1232 Harold Henry PARTRIDGE. 33rd Battalion
, prevented almost all enemy movement in that corner. After half a dozen Germans
had been shot trying to creep to the southern crater, the enemy abandoned the attempt.

Harold Henry Partridge was a Farmer from Niangala via Tamworth upon enlistment. Harlold's first wife Mary died in 1922 at Walcha, N.S.W. Death Cert:13271/1922.
