John Graham Pockley enlisted on the 6th of July 1915 with the First Australian Hospital
Ship HMAT A63 "Karoola". John left Sydney for the Dardanelles and returned in 1916 only to leave
again on board HMAT A67 "Orsova" on the 14th of June 1916. John returned to Australia at the end of
1916 and transfered to B Company, 7th Reinforcements, 33rd Battalion AIF with the rank of 2nd
Lieutenant on the 24th of January 1917 and left Sydney on board HMAT A68 "Anchises" on the the same
day.
John disembarked at Devonport, England on the 27th of March 1917 and marched to the Durrington Army
Camp at Larks Hill where he remained until the 3rd of November when he proceeded overseas via Southampton
for France. John was Killed in Action at Hangard Wood, France on the
30th of March 1918.
John was a married 26 year old Grazier from Yarran Springs, N.S.W upon enlistment. His wife Nancy
was in the care of Sargood Bros of 11 Burhill Row, London, England.

and died in 1918 in France. Helen Dorothy Antill Pockley born 1895 at St-Leonards, N.S.W.
Birth Cert:26616/1895 and died in 1964 at Mossvale, N.S.W. Death Cert:11419/1964.
