John Thomas Reinsford Price enlisted with 8th Reinforcements 33rd Battalion AIF on the
26th of March 1917 and left Sydney on board HMAT A16 "Port Melbourne" on the 16th of July 1917
and disembarked at Liverpool England on the 16th of September 1917. John remained in camp at
Larks Hill prior to being sent to France from Southampton on the 18th of January 1918. John
was taken on strenght in the field at Rouelles and marched to the front line where he was
Killed in Action Villers-Bretonneaux, France, on
the 30th of March 1918.
John is remembered with honour and is commemerated in perpetuity by the Commonweath War Graves
Commission at the Crucifix Corner Cemetery, Villers-Bretonneaux, France.
John was a 21 year old single Farmer from "Kia Ora", Armidale, New South Wales where he lived with his parents George and Emily Price. After the war his parents moved to "Harewood" Yarrowtck Road Armidale in 1920. John went to Armidate High School.
