Private (Lance corporal) Theodore SMITH has several times been in charge of the transport section engaged in pack work in the forward area, and at all times he proved himself thoroughly reliable and energetic and displayed both courage and initiative. By his gallant conduct and splendid leadership he has never failed to get all stores forward despite heavy shelling, at times when they were most urgently needed.
