Died: 7th June 1917. Killed in Action Messines, Belgium.

George Thomas Taylor enlisted with the AIF on the 31st December 1915 and was taken on in strength with C company, 33rd Battalion
and embarked from Sydney onboard HMAT A74 "Marathon" on the 4th of May 1916.
3rd October 1917.
Informant; Sergeant: 842 Sidney Raymond NELSON. I saw Private: 882 George Thomas TAYLOR dead at
Messines, he had been killed by concussion. I did not see the actual casualty, but saw himsoon after. We held the ground, and he was buried near the
place of the casualty but I did not see the grave and I cannot refer to anyone for details.
3rd Australian Auxillary Hospital,
25th October 1917
Informant; Captain: James William SHREEVE. I assisted at the Burial of these men at the Cemetery at Toronto
Cut Ploegsteert Wood on dates between 7th and 10th June last. The map reference to the exact position of the cemetery is:- 28 S.W. Addition 5A.U.15c.10.10.

Private: 882 George Thomas TAYLOR.
17th November 1917.
Informant; Captain/Chaplain: George Spencer RICHMOND Private: 882 George Thomas TAYLOR is
buried in the Toronto Communication Trench Cemetery, Ploegsteert Wood, Messines. I conducted the burial service, and a cross was erected over the grave.
The number of the plot is "U 15.C.I.I"
No: 4 Command Depot, Hurdcott, England.
George is remembered with honour and is commemerated in perpetuity by the Commonweath War Graves Commission at the Toronto Avenue Cemetery,
Belgium.
George was an 18 year old Shearer from Narrabri, N.S.W upon enlistment. His mother lived at Chester Street, Moree,
